Book Review: Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

Will it be magical if you would decipher that you don't belong to the indifferent species?

Well, the time has come for you to read the quirkiness of this debut novel. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, is a fantasy book that was written by Ransom Riggs. Other genres like mystery, horror, humor, drama and etc. were also pronounced in the well written piece.

Death in one of the Portman's family has become a sign of turning events from ordinary into something extra.

A 16 year old boy named Jacob Portman has come to a well known childhood island place to his grandfather to determine if his uncanny stories  and experiences about it speaks of total truth.

Sensing a child who can cast off fire on its hands, one who levitates uncontrollably into the air, another one who is everlasting invisible but  can be seen when wearing his garments, and a lot more spells him to believe that the once thought make believe labellings of his grand father were actually accurate.

Now, he has a mission.

An aim where Jacob must update the ymbryne or the headmistress named Miss Peregrine who was found living in a different time and dimension with the peculiar people and once took care of his grandfather, that he has been discovered by the monsters and already dead. An assurance which they are being hunted now, by these.In return, enlightenment on how things were happened are to be retaliated to him.
Issues became clearer, and Jacob realizes he is one of them.

As a reader, i am firmly satisfied with the book's story adding up the photographs which used to enhance the narration.

Even though i don't consider it as one of the page turner books i have ever seen, the details and the story itself is rarely forgettable.

If it happened that you had seen the book somewhere and you have read the synopsis at the back, and it felt as if  the story purely catches horrifying imagery on you, where, as an example, the characters are just going to run off from white-faced lady creatures or whatsoever.

Well, think twice!

I have thought of it before buying and it wronged me.

So, try to imagine you are playing a video game and you must find keys to unlock meanings. It's highly mysterious. The probability of it being real somewhere is highly plausible. I mean, reading it is the time when your imagination is being provoked intensely. Knowing that peculiarities are just everywhere, and we are just sometimes being clueless.

There are just things which are far beyond on what you can do as a person.

So, explore goodly.

Book Review: Let the Sky Fall by Shannon Messenger

Ready to be instantly captured with the sweep of this action packed, fast-paced,and  hilarious yet romantic novel written by Shannon Messenger this 2013.

A sylph, designed to be in earthly and aerial form, Audra is a member of Gale Force which promotes peace among the four winds (East, West, North, & South) after the commotion that brought unsettling to themselves, now entitles herself to be the guardian of their last hope from the West Wind Family to destroy the starter of all war.

Everything has been a non-extraordinary life to Vane Weston since he was adopted by another set of parent. Forgot his past when still a child seemed to be absurd knowing that in the modernity's recorded news, his true family has been killed to bits by a category-five tornado which it only left him to be labelled as the "Miracle Child" . But, days are counted, and he must confront the real essence of his existence.
Audra, as his protector must bring up the survival skills of being a wind walker, but before it happened, she must be able to perform his first breakthrough where he must be able to see her in

wind form for him to be said ready.

The day he met her, is the momentum where his dreams came finally true, told that he remembers her, in dreams yet shaky of reality, and she has always been the love of his life are nothing but matters of uncertainty about such mistakes that they might bring as lovers.

She became resistant of her feelings due to the fact that she predicted that everything will result to nothingness. Telling those faults of her will  soon be discovered and surely inevitable. Never realized that this thing might've been the most plausible deprivation that she'll ver regret in entire life.
In the end, after all the hardships and contrasting thoughts they had, both knew that they are meant to be together.

The question still lies with continuation before eternity.

Don't miss the sequel of "Let the Sky Fall" entitled  "Let the Storm Break"

The book is easy-reading where in every flip of page, I never realized that I'd already conquered tons of paper that puts up a thick one.  Definitely at ease of the words that past through my eyes.Agreeably, making imagination bit confused with lack of preciseness. And not sure if  liked it that way. Became a flaw somehow.
I recommend to be read by students who are ages 12 and above since vocabulary wasn't highfaluting neither elementary.

SPOILER ALERT:
In discussing characters, i found Vane Weston looked pervert with thoughts he had about Audra. Knowing that she looks good or hot based from  descriptions of clothing and appearance. It'll all turn out better if author shown words of thoughts which obviously show that  guy respects  girl to balance or cover some of "too much" naughty side of his.  If the thing was entailed, their sweet or romantic actions during moments of two will be much appreciated as the way it was intended.  Thoughts about her denotes purely physicality stuff and exclude some  likeable traits such as being strong-willed person, yet gentle, which i guess, turns out being more attractive to guys. And that of her will define more of his "dream girl".
Own perspective.

Next is, I loved the fact that Audra was able to let loose and give herself some form of entertainment. From the story that tells she's being emotionless and goal oriented, Vane has seemed done his tremendous part in making the girl a bit soft.

It's also true that Audra was deprived with some kind of affection, yet Vane was able to show it somehow. She wasn't able to reciprocate at all times but when she gave in, it resulted something beneficial. Inappropriate to be strict to someone's life for it'll possibly end in unbalanced satisfaction. In addition,  10 years since Audra did'nt eat nor drink as form of sacrifice thus making her strong and providing a worthy training with Vane yet when time she lose hope for developing his fourth breakthrough which is Westerly Call. This definitely added agony on looking-does-not-pay-off sacrifices of her. Vane had cheered her by going to restaurant. She was tempted and fell into. Later on, she was convinced and felt joyful about it.

Lastly, i was not so barely surprised with the oh so lot of revelations that they had on the last part, in regards with Audra's mom true nature, Raiden who is still reigning, Vane being the king of Gale Force for propagation? LOL and etc. surely promising the audiences that their are a lot to expect on its next sequel.

Love Anthony by Lisa Genova

The story is about two families’ lives in Nantucket who shares no any personal connections at first.

One day, Olivia, and her husband David had an offspring.A child who is diagnosed with Autism. It became difficult and confusing to their lives to experience such kind of condition, especially when Anthony experienced death.This led to separation where the husband gone abroad, leaving Olivia alone.

On the other side, Beth having three daughters with Jimmy was also living with some kind of commotion. Infidelity triggered and became as a major problem. The guy feeling unloved led him to do such before the couple had decided to separate ways yet still thinking of working the relationship someday.

This is the moment when  Beth had found time for herself in writing, the time where daughters became more independent in terms of managing their lives.

She went to the library every day sitting on the magical chair she had considered and she'd read matters about Autism which directed her to write a book (fiction) about it.

During the time when Olivia is living with huge questions and currently earning as a photographer, she has invited Beth to take pictures of them as a family (without Jimmy), and when Beth had the chance to ask her feedback about the book, both immediately dealt with it.

Twists in the story has never been unusual.

A night where heavy weather still pursued Olivia to visit Beth in her house told that the book that she had done was her son’s story,and this was also the time after Jimmy gone to her house, asking for forgiveness. Instead of accepting the apology by husband, a realization occurred that she cant be with him again. This gave them an end on relationship, finally, she asked for divorce.

Going back to Olivia’s, she immediately uttered that the ending of story is still unfinished and left her unanswered with the questions about her son.

This made Beth in total confusion in regards with what end she is going to make with the story and she had with Jimmy, until one morning, she went back to the library, and found reasons in deciding an ending to her book and love story.

At the end, the novel tries to exemplify that our real purpose in life is to love unconditionally, despite of unanswered questions on why things happened, we should still be grateful, for we are given the chance of continually living.

The writer decided to give chance to his husband, and rewrite the last part of his story until she found satisfaction on those two and the latter made Olivia totally in bliss.

For me, the book is good to be read by parents/individuals who are also living with the condition. This summary is not yet fully detailed and has no excitements to offer yet.

it will try to unlock questions from individuals who are questioning God on why their relative/family has the kind of diagnosis. It has a nice way to inspire people if feeling bad about life that God has given. And some insights were given about how the world is interconnected.

Hunger Games: Catching Fire Summary

Katniss Everdeen, managed her way home in District 12,from Capitol without causing troubles. Days and months passed, and she is gearing up to be on Victory tour where she, and fellow tribute Peeta, will be refreshing lives to the senses of Capitol people.

The conventional will now turns to be like this, on every year’s entertainment, they are supposed to be mentors to chosen tributes by teaching them strategies for good time and lasting impression. But one day, before main event occurred, President Snow visited Katniss, doubting her,stating that, poison berries served as instruments to save her life and Peeta, during game didn’t became as an arrangement of advertisement to District people, but they've seen it as function of defiance and not love which causing them now an uprising.

Stakes are high due to threatening by authorities currently imposed not just on her but also to whole world.

Grounds for Katniss to save her loved ones are by giving satisfaction to Capitol by proving that love to Peeta is mad, and unconditional. She must calm the beings from Districts to prevent a total uprising. Trials were done and errors were made. President is not to display any kind of mercy. Patience has gone in seeing Katniss breathing on his territory.

In the celebration of the 75th Annual Hunger Games, tributes are to be reaped of from existing pool of victors where Katniss as only one left, while Haymitch and Peeta are on male choices.

Katniss feelings bled, for coming back to arena depicts more grandiose challenges and traumatizing nightmares. Yet by the time she is wondering about this agony, she catches another issue. Not anymore managing her life.

During moments in the arena, Peeta had always pronounced his ever undying love to Katniss through saving her when near death experiences followed. Katniss was once blinded about it, but later on, she discerned that it is true. From recalling in the first time they met when her family is starving to death. Peeta found a way to give them food.

Game will play as a chance to pay for what she owes, sacrificing life to this guy, and try to merely stop the hardships which are experienced by individuals in Panem.

To save Peeta, Katniss had encouraged Haymitch to be the male tribute. But matters did not drive to what they assumed. As the drawing came to place, Haymitch name was first picked, freeing the opportunity of someone volunteering for him. It was no other than, Peeta Millark.

Necessities were reached before sending tributes to arena. Immediately, allies were made, Peeta and Katniss earned Finnick from District 4, Johanna from 7, and two intelligentsia Wiress,and Beetee from District 3, leaving career tributes from Districts 1 and 2 as they make their own group.

A plan must be executed where measure of terminating the careers will be through electrifying them by a coil of wire. This technique was once used by Beetee when he first won the Hunger Games. Killing 6 tributes at the same time through electrification, after succeeding, the deal is to give him 6 hours of living. Also the moment where they must part ways.

The plan turned into a mess when coil of wire was spotted by non allies, leaving Katniss confused and determined to do her only goal. To save Peeta and eliminate everyone, including herself. She went back to location where plan is to be executed, and knew Peeta not being physically present. Instead,she found Beetee with knife wrapped by a coil of wire who tried to destroy the force field that surrounds arena. She wondered and soon understood his plan leaving it to do by own, as a lightning would hit in exact place she immediately tried and succeeded with the risk of releasing an arrow clothed with a coil of wire upwards until arena was destroyed and ready to be exploited with its free opening.

Motionless, speechless, and lifeless are the adjectives to describe her after commotion. As seconds passed, a mouth of claws materialized from the hovercraft, above, winningly retrieved her.

She woke up confined and immediately had destructive thoughts. An unforgettable dying experience was forming on mind which will be done by President Snow.  But later on, she was wronged. She discovers now the bigger allies against cruel Capitol (ex. The Head Game maker, Tributes from different districts, and their once thought alcohol absorbed mentor, Haymitch). The crack was Peeta isn't rescued and held by capitol.

As you read the last part of Hunger Games which is entitled Mockingjay, you’ll see what these actions caused her to discover so much about their nation. Also, these will lead her to decipher about the tremendous role that still waits.

“A story of love and war letting protagonist be confused of who or what is going to be prioritized. But she discovers, she can do both at the same time, so she must have decided not to let one fall.”

Hunger Games: Summary

The story begins with the uprising of the 13 districts of Panem, which resulted one being slashed out. Now, remaining 12 are mostly deprived of highly needed differing essentials by the Capitol though they are the one who provides each.

 As a reminder of the rebellion that will never be repeated each district must sacrifice one men and women in honor of representing their newly made tournament. These happenings marked the starting of the annual pageant entitled Hunger Games.

Katniss Everdeen, a 16 year old girl, volunteered for her sister in joining the yearly celebration of Hunger Games, where 12 men and women from each district will represent as tributes who will fight in a specialized arena until the last breath of other 23, ending with sole victor who'll receive overflowing bounty from Capitol.The act that was committed serves as one of the most courageous from her, for it will either make her life worth it by the prizes that awaits her or shorter than she expects.

Hard goodbyes were made to loved ones due to unassurance of what food they are going eat, or clothes they are going to wear is what sort of kills. Knowing that she's been the family’s source of such life sustaining materials. It occurred since the family's father died due to a mine explosion, leaving their mother stunned about which kind of occurrence.

No denial that when the people discovered her skills as well as personality throughout the game, a lot of them were inspired, leaving a tiny spark that seemed to give hope.

It ended up with two victors instead of only one.

Now, Katniss and the whole district are said to be in danger because she had given them hope to rebel for a good and fair change, for the actions that were done became unbelievable to them.The poison berries that were used to save their lives has never became an instrument of love, but defiance.

The President and his authorities are now readying themselves with unimaginable surprises which they are going to take off especially to Katniss. Actions will be witnessed as you watched or read the Part II of Hunger Games which is entitled as the Catching Fire.

Will now the President witness the fallout of this young lady who unconsciously keeps on fighting for the whole nation and not just for her?
